Baxter Canada's Alliston Manufacturing Facility Awarded Prestigious Award For Excellence

ALLISTON, ONTARIO -

The Baxter Canada manufacturing facility in Alliston, Ontario has been awarded a prestigious Canada Award for Excellence, Gold Level: Excellence, Innovation and Wellness. Serving 850 institutions and more than 5,000 home dialysis patients across the country, Baxter’s Alliston manufacturing facility is the longest standing parenteral solutions plant in Canada and the only large-scale manufacturing plant producing life-sustaining intravenous and dialysis solutions. 

"We are incredibly proud of this recognition from Excellence Canada, especially as Baxter celebrates 60 continuous years of manufacturing at the Alliston facility and 80 years in Canada this year," said Stephen Thompson, President Baxter Canada. "This award is a direct reflection of the fact that our employees are committed to our mission, to save and sustain lives, every day."

Excellence Canada recognized Baxter’s Alliston facility for a management system with continuous improvement at its core, and for operations that value safety, strive for world-class quality and encourage staff growth and development. 

Since 1937 Baxter has been responsible for introducing some extraordinary medical breakthroughs to Canadian patients, including the first commercially manufactured intravenous solution, the first premixed drug solutions and the first peritoneal dialysis (PD) solutions and delivery systems. Baxter products and services, made right here in Ontario touch the lives of patients in every province and territory.
