Press Release
  • Baxter embraces policies with real impact on corporate culture

Mississauga, ON - May 9, 2019

Baxter Canada, a leading medical products company, has been certified as a Great Place to Work® (GPTW) by the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures.  Baxter Canada attained high levels of trust, pride and camaraderie amongst its employees.

GPTW standards of certification are endorsed by thousands of organizations around the world. More than lavish perks at the office, certified workplaces demonstrate leadership in building credibility amongst employees and human resources practices aligned with the culture of a caring work environment. Employees surveyed consistently demonstrated pride in their work, confidence in their organization’s leaders and a sense of community at work.

“We crafted a workplace reflective of who we are as Canadians. We know we can rely on each other no matter where we come from and that makes for a great place to work. It is something we are very proud of,” said Baxter Canada President, Stephen Thompson.

Baxter’s commitment to community building programs and corporate responsibility is at the core of its high performance in the GPTW survey.  “Our mission to save and sustain lives is really the glue that binds us. While working towards our mission, employees tell us that they enjoy working, socializing and serving our communities together. Employees feel a sense of belonging and a commitment to customers and patients,” says Rehana Doobay, Head of Human Resources at Baxter Canada.

Development of a culture where caring is valued and diversity nurtured also contributed to Baxter’s recognition as one of Canada’s most admired corporate cultures by Waterstone Human Capital in 2018. Baxter was the lone winner from the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
