One of the Patient/Client Safety Goals from Canadian Council on Health
Services Accreditation (CCHSA) is to create a culture of safety within the
organization. The related Required Organizational Practices (ROPs) suggests that
one prospective analysis (e.g. FMEA) be completed annually as required
evidence.
Another key Patient/Client Safety Goal from CCHSA is to ensure the safe
administration of parenteral medications. The related ROP requires documentation
and evidence for continuous effective training on all infusion pumps.
Baxter’s Clincial Informatics Consulting team facilitates the clinical
analysis of data from the Colleague™ infusion pump. Reports are generated to
identify opportunities for improvement in the medication use process. In
addition, these reports provide evidence for your organization on the
effectiveness of your patient safety initiatives. The Clinical Informatics
Consulting program also includes extensive support services for clinical
education and training for your organization.
