At Baxter, we’re committed to continually improving the long-term health of the communities in which we live and work. Your communities. Our communities. |

Our commitment to social responsibility is focused on increasing access to healthcare. In 2004, the Baxter International Foundation contributed over $15 million to communities in need worldwide. In 2005, our Canadian employees raised over $42,000 in support of Tsunami relief and, through WorldVision Canada, 60,000 lbs of Medication Delivery relief supplies were sent from Baxter Canada, to Nicaragua. Together, we can make a difference. |

Employee volunteerism is part of everyday life at Baxter. Our employees support many worthy causes and are encouraged to participate often during normal work hours. They deliver in-school presentations to encourage children to stay in school. They help out at the local food bank. They board Baxter’s “Life Bus”, which takes employees to local blood donor clinics to donate blood.
And our executives lead by example. They volunteer on charity Boards of Directors, take part in events, sponsor programs and mentor new Canadians.
Our annual national campaign to support the work of the United Way has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars since 1998. We have also extended support and caring to organizations such as:
- Erin Oak Centre, which assists children and youth with physical, developmental and communication disabilities in Mississauga, Ontario.
- The Dorothy Ley Hospice in Toronto, which enables people facing life-threatening illness to live with comfort, meaning and dignity.
- My Sister’s Place, which offers secure refuge and support services to abused women and their children in Alliston, Ontario, for the past 15 years.
- Atira Women's Resource Society, in White Rock, British Columbia, which works to end violence against women.
- Crabtree Corner, in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, where transient lifestyles, lack of resources and education and cultural issues result in many child and family health needs.
Baxter’s people are our community champions. They help us to increase access to healthcare in the communities we share with you, every day. |

Baxter also recognizes employees who volunteer on their personal time by providing matching gifts based on the value their charity of choice has realized. It’s a tangible way we encourage our people to give - and help them give that much more.
At Baxter, we believe that building healthy, sustainable communities is an important, shared responsibility. You can depend on us to do our part. |
