PD Travel at Baxter

Renal patients know that eliminating the need for in-hospital treatments liberates them and allows them freedom to fully participate in life. Baxter provides the equipment, supplies and support that enable these patients to self-administer Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) at home, work, or when traveling so they can enjoy independence and peace of mind.

Our Renal Travel Program allows patients to travel safely in over 45 countries worldwide, accessing PD supplies and delivery systems in those countries, which are supported directly by a local Baxter Renal facility. Home Dialysis Teams and Baxter Home Patient Representatives (HPRs) help to coordinate travel plans to ensure the products patients need are available throughout their trip. Patients can travel worry-free for up to four weeks and arrangements for two trips within Canada and one to the United States are provided each year, free of charge!

As the pioneer of PD therapy, we rely on patients, Hospital PD Units and our Baxter HPRs for vital input and feedback so we can help make travel as flexible, safe and worry-free as possible for everyone concerned. Baxter’s leadership in PD is built on a unique combination of therapy excellence, educational tools and unparalleled customer and patient support. We meet with Hospital PD Unit staff to stay close to current needs - such as the increased interest in recreational and business travel from PD patients - and we work together to meet them. We invite patients and their families to participate in focus groups. We attend patient and family support groups to offer travel tips and advice and, most importantly, to listen.
